Facial Acupuncture

Facial acupuncture uses Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and treatments to help prevent and reduce fine lines, improve overall skincondition and maintain a youthful glow.  Facial acupuncture or Facial Rejuvenation or Cosmetic Acupuncture helps relax the face. Emotions are stored in the face as everyone knows from laugh lines, furrowed brow of worry or down-turned mouth from sadness.

Facial rejuvenation is a wonderful alternative to surgery or injections as it safely and gently regulates emotions, balances hormones plus improves organ function. The treatment includes acupuncture to target problem areas of the face and neck as well as points to balance the body constitutionally.  Acupuncture is a natural, safe and effective way to reduce signs of aging and promote healthy skin as superficial local stimulation of the skin speeds up collagen production to fill in fine lines, while activation of facial muscles releases tension and helps muscles firm up. Facial acupuncture also balances the body’s overall Qi (energy) which improves health and vitality from within to create a natural healthy glow.

For maximum benefit a course of facial acupuncture treatments ranging from six to twelve sessions with 1 – 2 sessions a week is recommended in order to observe the following improvements

  •     reducing bags under the eyes
  •     firming jowls
  •     eliminating puffiness
  •     minimizing droopy eyelids and double chins
  •     moisturizing skin by increasing circulation of blood and lymph to the face
  •    increased collagen production, muscle tone, and dermal contraction
  •     tightening of the pores and brightening of the eyes
  •     balancing hormones to relieve acne
  •   reducing stress

A facial rejuvenation treatment encompasses a consultation, acupuncture to the body, face and head plus facial massage.  Complementary therapies such as cupping, moxibustion and ear acupuncture may also be included to achieve maximum benefit.  Herbal therapy may also be recommended.  Please visit the respective pages for more information.
